house clearance

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could schedule every house clearance around the seasons? Every year, it would be best to wait until spring or autumn. Without the sun beating down on you, things would be a little cooler and manual labor would be a little simpler.

Unfortunately, life does not operate that way, as we all know. If you’re a hoarder who’s been planning a clean-out, you won’t want to wait until next season to get started. Similarly, if a loved one has passed away and you must pay their mortgage, you may need to sell the property as soon as possible.

House clearances will be required at various times throughout the year. Even if clearing out a house in the summer heat isn’t ideal, it is possible. It’s also a lot easier if you prepare ahead of time.

So, here are a few pointers on how to clear a house in the summer.

Stay hydrated

Clearing a house is a physically demanding chore at any time of year, but especially so in the summer when it’s hotter and you’re sweating a lot more. Make sure you provide enough water for everyone and tell them to keep drinking throughout the day. Bring reusable water bottles and fill them up in the sink whenever they’re empty if you want to help the environment!

Make sure you eat well

House clearances are time-consuming and typically take several days. It’s all too easy to work straight through lunch to finish a project, especially if you’re on a tight schedule. If possible, take a break for lunch. It’s a good idea to be prepared and schedule your meals ahead of time, perhaps even preparing lunch the night before.

Also, make an effort to eat healthily. We understand that going to the chippy for lunch is tempting, but having a more nutritious lunch will provide you with the energy you need to get through the rest of the day. Take food that you can snack on throughout the day if you don’t have time to stop for lunch.

house clearanceWear cool, but safe clothes

During the summer, it can be tempting to do clearance in minimal clothing. However, keep safety in mind at all times. If you know you’ll be performing a lot of heavy lifting or the property has a lot of hazards, make sure you prioritize your safety as well.

Get some fans

To assist cool the air, place a few fans throughout the premises. People can also take a little rest in front of the fan to cool down!

Enlist the help

Having a few extra pairs of hands can be beneficial and reduce the impact on a single individual. You’re able to split the effort, which means you’ll have less to do. It may also save you time!
